The Grannies produced a spirited performance but ultimately fell to a seven-wicket defeat against LNZCC after posting 85 all out in an entertaining afternoon of cricket.
Batting first, the Grannies found scoring difficult against a disciplined bowling attack from LNZCC but showed plenty of resilience throughout the innings. From the Grannies batting line up, James Campbell was the standout performer, playing an excellent knock of 28 to anchor the innings and keep the scoreboard ticking over. Afaque Solangi added 10, while Pari Job also contributed a valuable 10 and Anthony Dunn chipped in with 9. Combined with a healthy contribution of extras, the Grannies reached a total of 85.
Defending 85, the Grannies bowling was led superbly by Harry Felgate, whose accurate off-spin proved difficult to score from. Bowling with excellent control, he claimed outstanding figures of 3 for 15 from his four overs. Will Dunn was fairly economical, conceding just 12 runs from his four overs, while James Campbell continued his fine day by restricting the batters to only 14 runs from his four-over spell. Despite their efforts, LNZCC’s top order gradually wore down the target.
James McMullan anchored the chase with an unbeaten 30, supported by Jack Shea (24) and V. Robertson (15), guiding LNZCC to 87 for 3 and sealing victory by seven wickets

How to get there
It lies midway between East Grinstead and Lewes, 5 miles north west of Uckfield, on the east side of the A275 (between A272 and A22).

Use the main entrance off the A275, signed Sheffield Park and Garden. Follow the sign to the visitors car park. Continue past the car park through the two sets of wooden gates. If the gates are locked the number for the padlocks is 1111.

Once through the bottom gate, follow the track around to the left and you will see the signs marked "Armadillos CC Car Park". Please park within the signs; you should not park beyond the final sign stating that parking is not allowed beyond that point. You may however drive up to the pavilion to drop off any equipment, but must then return to the designated car park straight away. You will see the ground (and the pavilion) through the trees from the car park. The ground is surrounded by a deer fence but the gates through it will be unlocked.
