Match report

Another youthful side lined up for the Grannies at Marden, bar 1 very senior and long term Granny, who can just about remember those days on an August Bank holiday playing at Edenbridge for Pou and most probably a young Pou junior !!!!
Grannies won the toss and elected to bat posting 196 for 5 off 35 overs.
To ensure all got a bat there were retirements for:
Nick Herbert 34, Henry Russell 33 and Mo Ahmad 34, with Tom Herbert contributing 29 run out.
The bowling from the Grannies was varied to start with, 2 bowlers reaching 2 no ball warnings.
So Marden got off to a good start, but we knew that once we got the first few batsmen out the run rate would slow and they helped us, by one of the batsmen running themselves out.
We did have the one traditional Granny dropped catch, but generally the fielding was good.
Marden were bowled out for 134 in the 29th over.

8 bowlers used:
A. McCartney 14 for 0 off 5
E. Steele 26 for 0 off 3
A. Nisar 22 for 2 off 4
J. Steele 15 for 0 off 5 (1 Maiden)
T. Herbert 10 for 0 off 4 (1 Maiden)
H. Russell 10 for 1 off 3
M. Ahmad 17 for 5 off 3.4 (1 Wicket Maiden, just too good)
R. Finn 4 for 1 off 2

A very enjoyable game was had by all on both teams, with everyone involved.
Our designated umpire, Paul Furness returned for a 2nd year and is very happy to continue to return.
A big thank you from me to all who played and to Rob (Finn) for managing the team.
