2017-06-18: The Grannies fell narrowly short against the HAC in an excellent game on a scorching day in The City.
Chasing 280 to win off 43 overs (the HAC innings being notable for some excellent opening bowling from Zaki and Peter, and a chanceless 157* from HAC batsmen Casey thereafter), the Grannies got off to a flier through opener Tom Smith. Smithy's century came up off 62 balls, at which point the team score was 119-1! Despite good support from Chhibber (27) and a late cameo from Gibbons (48*), the Grannies were bowled out just short of their target with 4 overs to go. Thanks to the HAC for another hugely enjoyable afternoon at Armoury House.
