Massive congratulations to Larry on completing the 32nd Marathon des Sables in Morocco. In doing so he raised enormous sums for charity and demonstrated the physical conditioning that the Grannies are well known for! Read his full message below.
Thank you again for sponsoring me during my adventure in Morocco at the 32nd Marathon des Sables.
I have raised the most staggering amount of money and I am so grateful that you supported me. I have attached a full report (wearing my heart on my sleeve, I am afraid) about my experiences which you can read if you haven’t got anything else to do! In short, I completed it and had a terrific time. A combination of intense heat, running in sand dunes and living in the field meant it was harder than I thought it was going to be. It didn’t go completely according to plan as I did spend some time with the medics at the end of the second stage.
For any of you looking to spend some time out of the “comfort zone”, I can’t recommend the adventure enough but do so safe in the knowledge that I now have this one ticked off and won’t be going back!
