Result - St Benedict's Masters

Thu Jun 19th Grannies win by 8 wickets.

Match report

St Benedicts Masters 105-5, Grannies 106-2

An excellent Grannies fielding display lead to an ultimately comfortable victory in this 2020. The Walden brothers, Oli and Frank, opened up with great accuracy and set the tempo for a bowling display which never allowed the home batsman to break free. Frank complemented his bowling with a quite staggering slip catch - he started going the wrong way to his left and then dived right to take a one handed effort just off the ground. Dom Ely bowled with great fluency, James Marriage and Adrian Lee played their part and there was the wonderful sight of Charlie Villiers Smith turning his arm over for the first time in several years.

Rob Waddington led the way with the bat with 42 and timed our tilt at 105 perfectly as we racked up a rare win at St Benedicts. And with Willoughby umpiring!

How to get there
Within spitting distance of the A40 and very near the Hoover building, this is an excellent and fun 2020 evening thrash of a match in the west of London. And they love Willoughby. Enough said.
