Match info

Country game, hour and a half from London, spectacular secret ground approached through woods and overlooking the rooftops of Cirencester, "Capital of the Cotswolds". Grannies quality cricket (whatever that means!)played in the same spirit - local but not village side, out for the fun and love of the game, hosted by Robin and Shona, with (probably) some kind of bibulous BBQ lunch at the ground before as last year! Good day out.

Location
Cirencester, Gloucs,
Cirencester Gloucs

How to get there
The Multi Map link below shows you both the map and an aerial view of Cirencester - the conventional route to Ciren from London is M4 to Junction 15, A419 past Swindon (indicated as A417, the dual carriageway on the map) to Cirencester, turning off next after the Cirencester Industrial Park turning, at the junction signposted Cirencester/Stow. L off the roundabout down to the roundabout outside Cirencester, turn R off roundabout onto the remains of a dual carriageway (the cricket ground is out of sight on the ridge above the dual carriageway to the right - you can see it as a lighter patch on the aerial view). Turn R at the traffic lights, The White Way. After rugby grounds on the R for 400 yards, turn R into private drive, follow the drive round to the R alongside the big hoos on the L and at the L hand bend go straight across down a wooded track signed Tarbarrow CC. Follow the track to the L, up a slope, and round to the R, pheasant pens on the R and you emerge from the woods at the corner of the ground. Cross along the boundary and park behind the pavilion.
