Result - St Paul's 'All Stars'

Tue May 22nd Grannies lose by five wickets.

Match report

With the Grannies short of several players with 5 minutes to go it was agreed that we would bat first and post a target.

Sadly, like England in the West Indies the pinch hitting start didn't quite materialise with both openers going cheaply.

Tim Haynes lead the consolidating with an excellent 46 but wickets fell in regular intervals and a total of 116 for 8 was set.

The opposition set off at a rate of knots with there young gap year students looking to finish early. However the Grannies bowlers reigned them in, the wickets tumbled, the runs started to dry up and the Grannies got back into the game. In true Grannies fashion a few dropped catches at crucial times could have changed the game but the old heads of St Paul's steered them home with a couple of overs to spare.

Many thanks to everyone who played.
