Match report
For once this early season test was greeted by fine weather in the Meon Valley.
The Grannies went into match knowing we were a little short on the bowling front and elected to bat. Both new candidates Rob Spry and Liam Kelly scored half centuries with 67 and 82 respectively and a first bat for two years from Jamie Lang produced a quick 52. After 60 overs and at 3.40pm we decided to declare, setting the Hoggs 285 to win. There was an element of admission from the skipper, in that we had not quite got enough runs. So it proved, as the Hoggs amassed the runs for the loss of only 3 wkts after 54 overs and 2 to go!!! Nothing to report on the bowling front except Christopher Bazelgette's wicket for the Grannies. Thanks to all that played and photos to come.
