Result - Autumn Golf at Rye

Sat Oct 13th Unexpected win for The Grannies

Match report

A gentle breeze and overcast skies welcomed twenty Grannies to Rye for a day of ferociously competitive golf and some excellent roast beef.

Bloomers did his usual trick of notching up two points, Bob Robinson left his golf shoes in the Czech Republic and Draff turned up in the nattiest socks seen at Rye in many a year. Chris Johnson Gilbert graced the Rye side with his presence but to no avail as Chris and Nick Yeates were given a dog licence by Andy Medhurst and Richard 'ouch, my back' Snowden. The morning ended with the local Grannies leading 3/2

After lunch the sun came out and with the swift transfer of Draff onto the Rye side they romped away to a 7/3 victory. Due to the impending rugby there was a rapid exodus after tea but a great day was enjoyed by all.
